sister's birthday

This past Thursday, November 19th, was my sister's 27th birthday (yeah, I am telling your age). We celebrated by having "shish-ka-bobs" for lunch after church on Sunday, topped off by Momma's famous Louisiana Yum-Yum for desert. The food was out of this world good, and it was such a good time with family and friends. I enjoyed every moment. I just wish that Aury could have been there with us, BUT he was working on obtaining my early Christmas present - of which I am so, so proud. If you are wondering what my present was, just scroll down a few posts :)
Here are some pictures from the weekend.
dad, of course, did all the grilling

ace

Christmas came early for me this year! I had spent the weekend in Ringling with family to celebrate my sister's 27th birthday. I returned home to Ada last night, getting back around 6:30. Well, about 7:30 my wonderful boyfriend showed up with an even more wonderful present for me. An 8-week old, 2 and 1/2 pound miniature pinscher who instantly stole my heart. He is absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen in this world, and so, so sweet. I fell in love at first sight. After much debate, we decided that his name would be "Ace". Perfect.
the newest member of our family
up close and personal
proud, proud Mama
ace wrapped up in my hoodie
sweet baby giving daddy some kisses

checkin' out his new mama
checkin' out his new daddy
sweet baby
being mischevious already
the sweet sight i found on my couch this morning
Thank you so, so much Aury. The lengths you will go to just to make me happy.
I love him and I love you!
Now we just have to get this little pee machine potty trained!

24

East Central's last football game was this past Saturday. Aury started at tight end and played a great game. East Central was down 27-0 at halftime but came back within a point in the last minutes of the game. An unsuccessful two-point conversion with only seconds left gave ECU their final loss of the season. However, it was by far the most exciting game this year! Aury caught a pass in the endzone late in the second quarter. They ruled it incomplete, but I was standing about 5-10 yards away and there was no way that ball touched the ground. Someone review the play already. Anyway, here are a few pics of #24.

Aury and his #1 fan

Post-Game: Needless to say, someone was a little sore.

visitors

Last Friday just a little bit before 5 o'clock, a couple visitors showed up in my office.
It was Aury and his nephew, Cache.
Thanks guys for stopping by! You made the time fly!

words

As I was reading my Bible, I came across some passages that really spoke to me and therefore got me thinking.
Matthew - Chapter 12 - Verses 33-37
33. Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.
34. You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.
35. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.
36. But I can tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.
37. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Wow. I felt conviction in my heart as soon as I read these words. So many times we, as humans, will say whatever comes to mind at the time, so many times we speak out in anger with no consideration of what is coming out of our mouths. I am certainly guilty of this and I am going to try to change this in my own life. I just wanted to share it with you and I hope it touches you as it has me. Also, I want to apologize to anyone I have hurt with my words. I love you all and I am going to try my hardest to use my words to reveal God's love and grace in my life. With the Lord's help, I'll get it done!

grandma

A couple months ago, Grandma took me with her to see the musical Mama Mia! in Dallas. We had such a good time together, and the musical was outstanding. Again, I know that I'm such a slacker on posting pictures, but I hope you enjoy these anyway. The two in the middle were taken while we were having lunch at Neiman Marcus. It was so fancy!
I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful Grandma.
I love you.
