like pp, like snuggle bug

I sure do love these guys...

snuggle bug's birthday

Well, I have been slacking and haven't posted any of the pictures that I took the weekend of Luke's birthday. I had such a good time with him that weekend. You get a lot more time with that little snuggle bug when NANA and PP aren't around!! Haha. Here's what I got. Limited, but good.

Neither one of us look very happy. Lol.

Ride 'em Cowboy

three blind mice

Every year everyone at the bank I work at dresses up for Halloween. Each department has their own theme. We had some throw a luau (that's Hawaiian for "party"). Some were pirates. Some were milkshakes. One department was Wizard of Oz themed, complete with Toto the dog. Well, myself and the other two ladies in my department were the 'Three Blind Mice'. Everyone really got into it and it was a fun day at "work". Here are a couple pictures.

ever feel like this?

Last night we went to bed not talking
Cause we already said to much
I face the wall, you face the window
Bound and determined not to touch
We've been married 7 years now
Some days it feels like 21
I'm still mad at you this morning
Coffee's ready if you want some
I've been up since 5
Thinking about me and you
And I've got to tell you
The conclusion I've come to
I'll never leave, I'll never stray
My love for you will never change
But I ain't ready to make up
We'll get around to that
I think I'm right, I think your wrong
I'll probably give in before longBold
Please don't make me smile
I just want to be mad for awhile
For now you might as well forget it
Don't run your fingers through my hair
Yeah that's right, I'm being stubborn
No I don't want to go back upstairs
I'm going to leave for work
Without a goodbye kiss
But as I'm driving off
Just remember this
I'll never leave, I'll never stray
My love for you will never change
But I ain't ready to make up
We'll get around to that
I think I'm right, I think your wrong
I'll probably give in before long
Please don't make me smile
I just want to be mad for awhile

"working"

As you may or may not know, I intern with the East Central Athletic Department in my "spare time". This internship is a graduation requirement for the masters degree I am pursuing. Because I have to work full time at the bank, I am only available to help with sporting events throughout the week or on weekends. I have been helping with volleyball and football as of late. This past Saturday, I worked a volleyball game at 11am and then the football game at 2pm. During the football game, we were having a promotional event in which kids registered to win a bike donated by the local Wal-Mart. Well, for the safety of the children that these fabulous bikes would go to, we just HAD to test them out... So, here is a picture of me "working" the football game on Saturday.

dracula

In true "holiday" spirit, I decided to read the classic novel by Bram Stoker - DRACULA. I picked up this novel because I just love vampire/werewolf movies and stories, being it is just about the only spooky subject matter that doesn't really scare me. However, after delving into this book, I may have changed my mind about not really being scared of vampires. Hah.
But let me warn you, though this book offers all the spooky, scary twists and turns, it is not a very "fun" read. It is written as a series of letters and journals of the main characters. It tells a story, though not in a traditional sort of way. Also, it gets very descriptive and wordy at times. But with me being half-way through it thus far, I have just got to finish it.
Do yall have any favorite books that you would recommend?? I have just ordered the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe and cannot wait for the books to get here. I love his work.

"we got lobstered"

Let me take a moment to explain this title to you. Last fall when I still lived with my -Best Friend Forever- Jenn, she and her boyfriend (who is also one of my very dearest friends for life) Shan, had gone out to eat. Well, when they got home for the evening, Aury asked them which restaurant they had gone to. To which, Shan ever-so-casually replied, "We got lobstered." This, of course, referred to the fact that they had gone to Red Lobster. Alas, "getting lobstered" was born and the phrase is still an active part of our vocab.
So, with you all caught up on the background information: Friday night, Aury and I made our way to Norman and... we got lobstered. I ordered salmon and crab cakes. The salmon was absolutely delicious and I vowed then and there to order it each and every time I returned to "get lobstered". Anyway, we had a great night. On our way back to Ada, we stopped by Purcell and met up with Aury's -Best Friend Forever- Jerry. Here are a few pics from the night.

This picture obviously wasn't from Friday night, but I was a little jealous that Aury got pictures with his BFF and I didn't, so I dug one out of my archives.
I love and miss you, Jenn!
Thank you Aury for taking me to get lobstered. I had a wonderful, refreshing time with you.
-Love your Bahama Mama :)

cowboy casanova

I have officially decided that this new song (well... I don't technically know how "new" this song is in the real world, but to me, it's new) by Carrie Underwood is my NEW favorite song. Ah, I love it. And not only do I love the song ..themusic, thebeat, thefeel, thelyrics, the"girl-powerness", as I like to describe songs like this to Aury.. but I love, love, love the video. If you haven't had the chance to see it yet, you should now make that your sole purpose in life. In the mornings while I am getting ready for work, I like to turn on CMT. Well, no matter how late I am running (which is usually really late, every morning) I take time out to sit and watch the video. Now that's what I call dedication (or obsession, you pick). Here are a couple stills from the video. Go watch it! Go love it!

By the way, I would kill .KILL. for Miss Carrie's legs. I mean, look at them, who wouldn't??

Doesn't it look like SO much fun??
(Sorry this one's a little blurry.)

Now, if I had any idea how to upload an audio clip of the song for you to listen to, I would. BUT... being that I don't have the least little clue how that's done, you will have to settle for finding the video on CMT.com or YouTube. Sorry.

long time, no post

Greetings!
Well, I figured that since it has been over a month since I made my last post, I should grace you with my presence and bring you up to date. I know that since I have such a large and loyal following (Momma, Sister & occasionally Aury), I really need to be a more active blogger. My apologies and I will try, try, try to do better.
It is OCTOBER. Though Aury informed me last night that he doesn't think Halloween is technically a holiday, I have deemed it MY favorite HOLIDAY. I love all things spooky (not scary, just spooky) therefore, I thoroughly enjoy this "holiday". I would be completely happy to spend the rest of my life living in an absolutely spooky little castle, brewing up pretend spells and talking to my black cat. No, I'm not as strange as that sounds, but doesn't it just seems like oodles of fun?! In keeping with true "holiday" spirit, I will share with you a picture of a perfectly spooky place. BOO!

Happy October and Happy Halloween!
Feel free to be as "spooky" as you wanna be!
