This past weekend I went down to Ringling to spend time with my family and time with my dad on Father's Day. Well, when I could drag him away from Luke. Luke had already been with his Nana and PP since Wednesday and Sister showed up around 7:30 Saturday night. Sister and I got up on Sunday morning to go down to the church and eat Father's Day breakfast with Dad, and sadly, Dad had to grill his own steaks for lunch. It was a nice, relaxing weekend full of plenty of laughs courtesy of Luke.

I LOVE summertime. Everything about it. The sun..the heat..the tans..the water..the food..the bathing suits..the fun. How can you not love it?

Well, last weekend we had our annual fish fry at the church and my cousin Kim and her family (Jonny and MiKayla) joined us. MiKayla informed me that her pool was ready and I needed to come swim. Ah, music to my ears...

So I was trying to figure out when I could make a trip down. Then over the course of the next week, my momma informed me that my sister was bringing Luke down to see his PP. Perfect timing! I called Kim up to see if we could come swimming on Saturday and of course she said, "Come on!"

We had a great day! Thank you, Kirkland's!!

weekend update

1. Last Tuesday was the first day of summer classes. You know what that means... It was MY first day as a graduate student. (I am oh-so grown up.) As I was SO excited to start studying something that I am actually interested in, I was immediately reminded why I was SO happy when I finished my undergraduate work. For lack of a better way to put it - Homework Sucks! That being said though, I am enjoying my classes and I am actually looking forward to the work ahead. Boy, I must be growing up!

2. I made my first trip this morning from Ada to Ringling. Let me tell you that this was not easy. I got lost two times and managed to turn an hour and twenty minute trip into over two hours. But as my grandma said, "I will NOT miss that turn next time."
So finally, I made it to Ringling. The reason for my visit this weekend was to attend Dad's annual fish fry at the church. It was a huge success. I had never seen a turn out like the one they had today. Though it started out very rocky, it turned out to be a great day with family and friends. Sorry Sister, I forgot to take any pictures :(

This past weekend, I went up to Norman to help Jenn move out of our old house. Though I love my new apartment in Ada (it's all MINE), I miss her like crazy. BFF's for life. Lol.
